WINDMILL
This
was taken on a trip to the South-west of Western
Australia with a Diana toy camera, near the
end of a long, dry summer. I used Ilford HP5
Plus Black & White Film.
I
know this is a bit of a visual cliche in Australia,
but then in a country that's mostly desert,
it's fair enough that the windmill should be
a significant icon.
It's
a little ironic that the Outback image of Australia
is marketed to the world, considering that around
95% of our population live within an hour of
the coast and over 90% live in the Capital cities.
In reality, we're the most urbanised culture
in the world. But then we Australians love irony,
so I thought I'd throw this pic in to perpetuate
the image.
